Surgery Shorts: A Micro Game

24/09/2020 Development ideas and changes we are going to make:

Glen, Kieron and I have thought of some more innovative ways we can switch up our game and make it more unique, easier, and more lenient on our goals and limitations:

  • We have decided to change the main objectives of the game a slight bit; instead of only one place needing to be operated upon, we have decided to make it so that ALL parts of the body are available for operation, and the player must get as many things out of the body as possible before the time ends.
  • We are sacrificing the key controls for a simply click and drag style of controller, mainly because this will make the game easier to make and play.
  • We are going to have a few top-down scenes and also side scenes, instead of the plain side scene. This is to add variation and also to give the player more notice on which part of the body is selected.

As of tomorrow, we are going to put together a demo of sorts, which we will make into the beta and eventually the full game, we are doing this so:

  • We can get a head start on developing the code, as no one on our team is a coder.
  • finding and pointing out bugs early in development to make the gameplay smoother
  • to actually get a start on the game and get past concept.
